Well, evidently we weren't as prepared as we thought we were for this trip. We had gotten 4 miles from Raleigh when we realized that William had left one of his bags at his house. Ah fate. We all took our segways back to Williams house just to find out that we only had about 12 miles worth of battery power left on our means of transportation.

So here we are, just outside of a small town called Morrisville, sitting by a field eating pre-sliced packages of American cheese. Our segways are charging at a pharmacy two miles down the road. I cant say that I'm not disappointed with our progress today. Hopefully by tomorrow we will have made it at least 30 miles from here. For now, we're bear-grillsing it.

The Beginning...Day 1

This is the beginning of our journey.

Who are we? WE are Martin, William and Dave. We are just three guys going to California.

On Segways.

It started off in a pub in Raleigh, North Carolina. We were there with a friend, who was slightly drunk. Then again, I guess we were too. Martin's wife had just left him, and we were complaining about how "meaningless" our lives were. It was then that our drunk friend bet us "A MILLION DOLLARS" (we're quoting you on this, Fred) that we wouldn't leave Raleigh to go across the country. Then, Dave piped in. He said that we would not only cross the country, but we would do it on Segways.

So, now we're stuck. Here we are at my house (William's,) packed, and ready to go tomorrow. We'll try to update this blog for our friends on a weekly basis until we reach our destination: Los Angeles, California. But if you know us, you'll know our posts probably won't come that often. Anyways, wish us luck!
